アダプティブピアノ/Adaptive piano
アダプティブピアノとは、生徒さんの障がいの程度、症状やニーズに適応し、ひとりひとりの発達の状態と目標を最大限考慮したピアノやキーボードのレッスンです。レッスンの指標はキーボードのスキルのレベルアップだけではなく、知育や社会性の発達も含めて立てられます。
Adaptive piano is piano/keyboard lessons for people with special needs. It takes into account not only the type and level of special needs that each person has but also their musical interests and goals in their daily life. Therefore, lessons are highly individualized and adapted to each person, and materials are selected and created based on the instructor’s understanding of each student.
音楽療法/Music therapy
音楽の持つ様々な力を使って、障害や心身の改善を援助します。一人一人の生徒さんのニーズはもちろん、音楽のどの方面にどの様に反応するかを見極めながら、音楽を用いた療育を通して、学習や発達を補助します。
Music Therapy is the clinical use and application of music interventions to assist each client to improve their skills and work toward their unique goals.
アダプティブピアノか音楽療法か??
どちらのコースが適切かは、生徒さんひとりひとりのこれまでの経験、興味、障がいのタイプやレベル、そして今後の目標などを元に決められます。もちろん、保護者様の希望や意見も重視します。
アダプティブピアノを主に行う場合、自宅にキーボード、電子ピアノ、ピアノのどれかが必要です。音楽療法の場合はこれらは必ずしも必要ではありませんが、小型でも何かしらの鍵盤楽器があることは大きなプラスです。音楽療法に使用される小楽器は療法士が持参します。
どちらかのコースだけに決める必要はありません。これまでも多くの生徒さんが、アダプティブピアノと音楽療法のコンビネーションでレッスンを受けています。そしてどちらをどのくらい取り入れるかも流動的に、生徒さんの発達や反応の様子を見ながら適宜に変えることができます。
Adaptive piano OR Music therapy??
Which course should my child take? It is determined based on each student’s past experience, interests, type and level of special needs, and goals they might have. Ideas from parents and guardians are extremely important to consider as well.
When a student takes adaptive piano lessons, it is expected that they have either a keyboard, electric piano, or acoustic piano at home. For music therapy sessions this is not a must item; however, it would be a big advantage to have some kind of keyboard instrument, even if not a full sized one, at home. The instructor will bring other hand instruments.
It is not necessary to initially decide which course the student is going to take. Unlike typical piano lessons, the course of lessons is much more fluid and flexible. And how much adaptive piano and music therapy are combined within one lesson will continuously be adjusted to the student’s development and responses.
